- PROJECT : Design & Build of new factory
- SECTOR : Heavy Engineering
- LOCATION : Tyne & Wear
When a hydraulics engineer was faced with expansion and running operations at the same time, they initially went to a contractor.
The price of this exceeded the budget available. The classification of land purchased for the expansion did not match the intended use. There were rights of way and key major services running under the land producing complications which could not be overcome, all major challenges!
We were asked for advice and produced designs and solutions for traffic, safely partitioning off the site, submitting traffic plans, dealing with rights of way and ensuring that major electrical supplies were correctly protected.
We then turned out attention to the work that needed to be done on the site, which required a quality engineering grade level floor, in-floor electrical supplies to avoid overhead obstructions, several cranes of up to 20 tonnes each, installation of mezzanine floors, offices and loading facilities.
The project was achieved within 12 months including a successful planning application, building regulation compliances, the site fully serviced and operational and a fifty percent saving on the project cost to bring it in line with the client expectation.
