Having provided this particular client with a number of flexible delivery options at various sites in the South, we were asked to help with an issue of limited storage and marshalling space at what was essentially a fully committed retail back of store operation involving one to two HGV cage drops per day which had to be kept separate and access to online orders prepared in shop which then needed to be marshalled for the drivers to collect.
The congestion was intense and required the operation to be moved into the yard. To do this we had to have an undercover walkway and fire exit built with secure access to back of shop and a marshalling area for mobile boxed picked orders intended for the customers’ retail on line orders.
The yard was not level adding further complications. We provided a PVC clad building which was constructed to fit the available space in the yard and protect it from contamination by providing a fixed building to house the waiting goods for distribution.
